Gathering Catalog's

I am trying to think about all the neat catalog's out there that help us hs'ers out. There are the ones that are oriented to one subject like science and then there are the biggies that cover everything. I am compiling a list as my sister has fallen in love with what we have been able to do as a hs'ing family and I want to be able to give her and others who venture into hs'ing a good list of catalogs, what they are and cover and if they cost anything . This is what I have to date.

Rainbow Resource (of course, cover's everything and gives a review of it too)
Tobin's Lab (Science)
Timberdoodle (Critical Thinking)
Banks School Supply (School Supplies at reasonable prices)
Sonlight(great reading lists)

Amen to that Mrs. D. I think this is a great start and unless I find somthing outstanding I will just leave it like that.
It's a good refrence to have though. Sometimes I forget about some of the great catalogs out there.

Great idea, Vanessa! The first thing that comes to mind for now that I use:

www.teachers@doverpublishing.com
(you can also download free printable pages on their website; sign up for the email and they'll send you reminders of the new pages - Great for lapbooking and notebooking)

www.scholastic.com

Now and then I buy the teachers helper magazine, Bookbag magazine, and mailbox magazine. If you are not familiar with these, let me know and I'll gather mine to show you when you return from your vacation.

One of my favorite free magazines is from www.theeducationcenter.com; they have the best website, freebies, stories, lesson plans, etc.

(and I know you like freebies, Vanessa)

we receive National Geo for Kids

I also receive the kraft foods magazine which is thick and loaded with recipes and information on food; this is a good lesson for the boys as well. :)

I go to the library for Owl, Scholastic News, Time for Kids, (go to the teachers website for time for kids to download worksheets and additional lessons), Boys' Life, Boys' Quest, Calliope World History for Young People, Cobblestone American History, Kids Discover,

I have quite a few more to share but need to get going - I look forward to seeing what you will add
